Classics Cars For Sale
Since the early 1900's,
the name Cadillac has been synonymous with luxury,
winning prizes at home and abroad
for its comfort, performance,
and thoughtful attention
to often innovative detials
that set the standard
for any other company
that considered itself a high-end auto manufacturer.
Starting in 1947,
Cadillac introduced the Fleetwood,
which represented the pinnacle of American luxury cars
for almost half a century.
The 1973 Fleetwood debuted to high expectations,
and met or exceeded every last one of them.
The Fleetwood line had been given a facelift in 1973.
It now sported more angular bumpers,
an eggcrate grille,
front and rear reading lights,
a padded vinyl roof and redesigned molding.
Under the hood sat a massive 472 cubic-inch V8 engine
capable of producing 400 horsepower.
How impressive was
the 1973 Cadillac Fleetwood?
Car and Driver's reviewer waxed rhapsodic,
saying, “Materials used are of the highest quality,
construction is as solid as an anvil,
and the attention to detail
rivals that of
an over-age lecher putting the hustle on an 18-year-old.”
While we can't speak directly to that last part,
this particular specimen
does the Cadillac tradition proud.
This Fleetwood has been well-maintained,
and its body, engine and interior
have been kept in excellent condition.
Its size – which could kindly
be called “immense” –
and its blunt lines
mean that this is not a wallflower of a car.
They certainly don't
build 'em like this any more,
but that doesn't mean you can't
still call a particularly comfy slice
of automotive history your own.
