Let me tell you history about this incredible 1944 Caterpillar Crawler Trator
This 1944 D4 Caterpillar Crawler Tractor Serial # 2T05957 with a factory installed trackson hoist. Was originally sold to the US army and was never used by them. It sat in a depot till after the war and eventually was purchased by the Osawatomie Kansas state mental hospital for use by their grounds department. It was hardly used there, shortly after they bought a later modeled unit with hydraulics. My customers father was able to purchase this Beautiful Cat D4 in 1963 (he worked as a mechanic at the state hospital) he took loving care of it for many years and used it at there farm. He operated it until he was 88 years old and finally had to park it about 8 years ago. Hasn’t been started since but it was running like a charm when he crawled off of it, His Son my customer is now selling the farm would really love to see this piece of American History Caterpillar Crawler Tractor go to a great home..
